This position will perform a variety of duties to support Production and Inventory Planning in a defined MRP environment. This includes executing capable to promise (CTP) for incoming sales orders, work order planning, scheduling, material and capacity planning, and transfer order planning.  Additionally, this role will be responsible to revise and reschedule orders when necessary, monitoring key metrics to ensure production is on track, monitor plant capacity and work with plant management to determine production changes to achieve Business objectives in MRP environment. This role will also be responsible for identifying and coordinating with Configuration team to maintain accurate BOMS, routes, and components specifications in the MRP database.  

  • Firm and date doorskin production orders in AX ensuring requested ship dates are met (or the best ship date possible); request best production dates from splicing and/or doorskin scheduler
  • Order from outside vendors in AX as needed, requesting best ship dates available. Manages all transfer order requirements for material purchased between other Masonite site
  • Confirm ship date on doorskin sales orders in AX
  • Upon notification from production, reorder materials, firm and release orders for doorskin production and re-date sales order in AX for remake needs between splicing and doorskins. Ensures that requirements for materials are communicated to purchasing
  • Expedite changes in AX and advise sales of new ship dates as needed when doorskin ship dates cannot be met.  Escalates and seeks decisions on exceptions for shipment (dates/costs)
  • Respond to doorskin sales questions regarding quotes, subject matter expert on technical facts and production capability
  • Promote lean manufacturing by ordering only what is needed
  • Analyze, interpret, and coordinate equipment, material, capacity/constraints (including substitutions) to MRP schedule date demands
  • Collaborates with business functional areas to implement work flow, process improvements, and standard operating procedures.
  • Exercises solid judgment based upon data and experience
  • Prepares periodic or ad-hoc reports as necessary.
  • Provides periodic support for other (Prods/Ops) Scheduling & Inventory Planning department personnel within company guidelines and procedures.
  • Assists with physical inventories as required.
  • Performs duties as assigned by supervisor.



  • 4 year Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of expereince preferred
  • CPIM, SCM, or SPSM certified preferred
  • Familiar with a variety of the wood industry field’s concepts, practices and procedures, with advanced knowledge of plywood and face construction
  • Proven experience in working with MRP in a manufacturing environment is required; Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred
  • Basic use of Microsoft office products: Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Production planning background in a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Strong influential, collaboration, problem solving and conflict management skills
  • Advanced math and analytical skills
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must be flexible in an ever-changing environment and have the ability to effectively handle multiple tight timeline situations and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and possess a willingness to make autonomous and quick decisions
