    Responsibilities

    IT Field Engineer

    Responsibilities:

    The Field Engineer is responsible for effective analysis and implementation of integration solutions at new and recently acquired Masonite business operations.  This individual should possess level 3 engineering skills in network, server, desktop, wireless and voice technologies. 

    This individual ensures that the infrastructure and related procedures located at remote offices adhere to organizational goals in support of staff, team members and customers.  The candidate who fills this position will be working with other team members, providers and customers to design implement and support new and existing infrastructure solutions. The quality of these solutions will impact revenue to the business so attention to detail is a "must have" trait for a candidate to possess.

    • Ability to perform extensive travel, spending as much as two weeks per month traveling.  Also must have the ability to travel internationally.

    Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    • Implement and troubleshoot infrastructure solutions including routers, switches, wireless access points, servers, printers and desktop technologies
    • Oversee cable vendor’s work to ensure that quality meets high standards
    • Ability analyze existing infrastructure deficiencies and present recommendations for improvement
    • Effective use of existing troubleshooting tools to quickly resolve issues
    • Ability to follow Infrastructure Solution Design established by Tier 3 Engineering Staff.

    ·         Provide off hours support as needed for reasonable period after engagement.

     

     

     

     



     

    Qualifications


    Required Skills and Necessary Experience:

    ·         At least  5 years’ experience with configuration and management of Windows Server 2008 ,VMware, Windows 7 desktop and related software

    ·         Strong experience installing Cisco routers, access layer switches, Cisco Call Manager and Wireless Access Points.

    ·         Working knowledge of cable standards

    ·         Hands-on experience installing VOIP desktop phones

    ·         Working knowledge managing telecom installation issues

    ·         Excellent Problem Management skills

    Desired Skills:

    ·         Ability to maintain a profession demeanor when troubleshooting issues

    ·         Performance metrics reporting

    ·         Attention to detail

    ·         Creating Infrastructure documentation

    ·         High level of customer care skills

    Education:

    Associates Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.

    (Preferred) MSCE Certifications, CCNA Certifications
