The Compensation and Benefits Analyst will assist in the development, implementation and administration of a variety of base pay compensation programs that reward and recognize employees of all levels. Working under minimal supervision with a high degree of confidentiality, the Analyst analyzes financial and non-financial information and based on information collected recommends, develops and implements program changes. The Analyst assists the Manager with the day-to-day activities related to various compensation and benefits programs including short term and long term incentives, base pay administration, short term and long term disability, medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D, flexible spending accounts and other benefit programs that are offered at Masonite. The Analyst provides compensation and benefits administration support to Field HR, escalating cases to the Compensation Manager as appropriate. The position is responsible for the validation and maintenance of employee data

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes data and information for various compensation and/or benefits programs.
  • Prepares reports for management.
  • Makes recommendations, develops and implements program changes.
  • Serves as liaison between Field Human Resources and benefit vendors for various benefit programs; assist managers with benefit and leave issues as they arise.
  • Researches inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, benefit cost, leave administration and other inquiries that come up from time to time.
  • Works with compensation and benefit service providers to insure that employee status is correct and that enrollment in the various benefit programs are correct.
  • Prepares and documents the delivery of all appropriate correspondence and communications related to health and welfare benefits to employees in a timely manner. Ensures that the updates are completed within the HRIS and benefits enrollment system as needed.
  • Assists with the correction of data errors for employee records in the HRIS system that may impact the administration of employee benefits or the transmission of employee data to various 3rd party vendors involved in the administration of Absence Management and/or Benefits Administration.
  • Serves as the benefits resource to a business partner for escalating compensation and benefits issues.
  • Assists in the completion of other tasks or duties related to compensation and benefits as requested.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Ability to run/analyze reports within an HRIS database and Time & Attendance system.
  • Working knowledge of the various categories of employee and job classifications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to think beyond initial inquiry to determine the actual needs or intent of the customer.
  • Problem-solving & analytic skills; detail-orientated.
  • Excellent follow-through skills.
  • Understanding how leave and benefits relates to the payroll processing cycle.
  • Positive attitude and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Thorough understanding of benefits regulations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment where compensation and benefits tasks and projects are shared among team members.
  • Desire to expand compensation and benefits knowledge outside of current ability.

Job Requirements:

 

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business administration, finance or related field.

 

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in human resources, preferably in benefits and/or compensation.

 

License/certifications: CCP/CBP preferred
