  • Responsible for management of the division purchasing and buying function, as well as hiring, training and supervising the purchasing team.
  • Responsible for management of inventory levels in the division.
  • Establishes methods and procedures, which can be adjusted to accommodate ongoing products/components changes and an increase in business demands.
  • Responsible for planning, ordering and coordinating the inflow of materials on a daily basis.
  • Dealing with suppliers on a daily basis in conjunction with Masonite Global Sourcing personnel.
  • Preparing cost accounting reports when required.
  • Contributes information and/or ideas for development of the company’s and department’s budget.
  • Conduct Performance Appraisals of the purchasing team.
  • Responsible for the collection, storage and/or retrieval of information including, but not limited to pricing, substitution and damage data.
  • Responsible for confidential information such as purchasing cost of raw materials and products, arrangements/programs with various suppliers, customized computerized inventory systems.
  • Responsible for inventories adjustments and support the creation of bill of materials.


  • Requires a Community College diploma in Business Management/Economics with 3-5 years relevant industry/management experience and up to 5 years on-the-job training.
  • Upgrading courses as part of self-improvement and increasing skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry, raw materials, own company’s products, manufacturing processes, inherent cost/price structures and research capabilities.
  • Must have great communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.
  • Good interpersonal skills are required to communicate effectively and clearly with suppliers, staff and management.
  • Good organizational skills are required to plan and coordinate each day’s activities and to ensure that work is completed on time.
