Responsibilities

The SR Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting information systems which will adequately support the enterprise infrastructure of the organization. Analyzes system requirements and ensures that systems will offer security and will be effectively integrated with current applications. Ensures that all systems are working at optimal levels and offers support to application development department regarding new technologies and system requirements. Maintaining IT services and projects, keeping the business up to date with new technology, providing feedback to the company on IT Infrastructure and potential improvements, and working with other staff on a variety of projects. 

 

  • Determine technical needs, such as hardware, software, scalability and security requirements
  • Install and optimize infrastructure solutions including blade servers, VMware, Exchange, Active Directory and backup technologies
  • Analyze and determine system requirements to ensure that systems will offer security and will be effectively integrated with current applications
  • Coordinate design and integration of overall architecture and parts of proposed systems with clients
  • Effective use of existing troubleshooting tools to quickly resolve issues
  • Analyze and optimize group polices across an internationally diverse topology
  • Provide Tier II and Tier III support per request from various constituencies.  Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Manage teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design, prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures.
  • Ensure all systems are working at optimal levels
  • Translate business needs to develop solutions from design to technological product
  • Oversee IT infrastructure projects from planning thru implementation
  • Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  • Demonstrate innovation, and produce efficient platforms fundamental to business success
  • Interact with external customers, development teams within the business to work on projects, and senior IT management to help keep all IT assets run properly.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.  Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale

Qualifications

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field or comparable experience
  • Six (6) to eight (8) years of IT experience
  • At least  5 years’ experience with configuration and management of Windows Server and related software
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange Server 2010, VMware, and O365 deployments
  • Hands-on experience with Blade server technology (Cisco UCS preferred)
  • Worked in an environment with multiple data centers
  • Support of at least 200 plus servers and 2500 plus desktops infrastructure
  • Excellent Problem Management skills
