  • Develop strategies that reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) for packaging by 3% annually.
  • Initiate and coordinate projects to standardize packaging components or decrease the cost of packaging while maintaining or enhancing quality and performance.
  • Work closely with all packaging suppliers – primarily pallets, corrugate, film, strapping and others.
  • Use existing systems to understand spend and identify lost savings opportunities within packaging.
  • Lead Packaging sourcing function.
  • Lead Packaging savings projects and cross functional teams.
  • Motivate team to leap over hurdles and generate a passion to win.
  • Execute and refine existing Packaging category strategies.
  • Work closely with Packaging suppliers to ensure that Masonite is getting the best quality, service, and price.
  • Collaborate with operations and cross functions to ensure that the right Packaging solutions are in place.
  • Implement supplier scorecards to consistently drive improvement and keep a close eye on supplier performance.
  • Automate procedures and create system enhancements to improve productivity.
  • Analyze spend data and perform in depth financial analysis.
  • Travels as necessary to guarantee project success (10 – 20%).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Bachelor’s Degree in business or equivalent education and experience.   



5+ years’ experience in packaging areas, preferably in category management, strategic sourcing, and leadership positions.

Experience with retail packaging would be a plus.


Knowledge and Skills:

Excellent verbal, written, negotiation and organizational skills.  Strong PC skills including spreadsheets, word processing and database management.  Strong management and team motivating skills with the ability to work with all levels within the organization.  Strong prioritization, planning, and reporting skills.  Extensive strategic sourcing and management reporting experience is a must.
