    Responsibilities

    Overview:

     

    Lean Six Sigma Master Black belt Black Belts lead the Continuous Improvement initiative for assigned sites, including but not limited to the deployment of Mvantage and execution of continuous improvement projects focused in customer satisfaction, quality, safety, and productivity through application of the Lean Six Sigma methodology.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Deployment of the Masonite Lean Operating Program, Supporting Businesses and Sites across the company while supporting  sites across the assigned Region as follows:
    • Executes the implementation of the lean program, across assigned sites within Masonite’s three (3) divisions (Residential, Architectural and components)
    • Coach Management teams during Lean Six Sigma deployment in generating the Continuous Improvement Annual Operating Plan in alignment with site’s core operational and strategic goals
    • Ensures the targets for CI savings are achieved at assigned sites, managing the implementation of projects and lean initiatives with teams
    • Manages Certification Plan of the Belt System at supported sites
    • Reviews and develops a “state of the art” Masonite Lean Operating System expert program
    • Supports Belt certification at supported sites, providing training, mentoring, and coaching in the Lean Six Sigma thought process and tools to Management, Site Champions, Belts, and site associates
    • Implements effective process management systems, tools, and methodologies
    • Assesses the organization effectiveness in deploying and utilizing these systems and tools
    • Acts as a change agent – Thrive in a matrix management environment to drive change and influence others within the organization to make sustainable and measurable improvements in processes
    • Leads business critical improvements and design projects with structured methodology approaches (i.e. DMAIC, IPECC, TOC, SMED, TPD, TPM, DFSS, DFMA, projects or Lean initiatives, such as VSM, Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
    • Provides individual mentoring and coaching to Continuous Improvement belt practitioners
    • Grows communication channels with Division Leadership, Site Leadership, and support functions
    • Leads Kaizen and 5S team events
    • Leverages best practices across sites and throughout the group
    • Ensures compliance with company benefit reporting requirements and manage the process on a timely manner
    • Generates monthly Continuous Improvement reports and conduct monthly reviews with Division and Site Leadership
    • Leads project execution through completion with a hands-on attitude to drive the Continuous Improvement culture on the shop floor

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, and flowcharting software
    • Result driven, exhibit business acumen, have proven analytical and problem solving skills, and demonstrated effective interpersonal ability to influence without authority
    • Must exhibit strong leadership, be self-motivated, process disciplined, and capable of successfully leading change in multifunctional teams with a take charge attitude
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, be open-minded, and adapt to new ideas

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor or Master Degree (preferred) with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or equivalent background with minimum of ten year experience in manufacturing or transactional environments
    • Highly trained on Lean Transformation or DMAIC /Six Sigma methodologies; Black Belt trained (certified preferred)
    • Candidate must be able to travel over 75% of the time and obtain Masonite Black Belt or Mvantage Expert certification within 18-24 months after completion of training requirements
    • Project Management, discrete event and/or stochastic simulation training and experience desirable
    • Experience managing Lean and Six Sigma project portfolios, delivering training, providing mentoring and coaching
    • Prior experience providing a dynamic approach to presentation and training at all levels of the organization, with the ability to translate data into information, and concepts into practical applications
