    Manager, Continuous Improvement


    The Manager of Continuous Improvement will provide strong leadership to implement and sustain a robust Lean Operating System and culture while ensuring the delivery of key Safety, Quality, Service and Productivity objectives.  The Manager of Continuous improvement is a key position within the North American CI organization and works in partnership with Operations and corporate leadership to implement our MVantage Operating System within multiple plants in the US, as well as the sustainment of the system. Must be able to travel up to 75%.


    Reporting Relationships:    Reports to Global Director of Continuous Improvement, and may have direct supervisory responsibility for Lean Experts and Lean Engineers.



    • Participates as a core member of the Global CI Leadership team and key support to drive and implement the overall Continuous Improvement Strategy for Global Operations.
    • Executes transformation and process improvement deployment utilizing Masonite’s playbook of Lean tools and methodology.
    • Coaches and develops teams (Operations, Business, CI) to use lean methodology and thinking.
    • Identifies capability gaps and prioritizes actions to close gaps.
    • Provides training through Masonite’s Lean Academy and supports mentorship and certification of employees trained.
    • Builds Trust with Operations teams through direct engagement and strong relationship building.
    • Communicates effectively with both salary and non-salary staff through all level of organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to coach, teach and mentor hourly and salary associates to drive improvement activities.
    • Leads Teams by example – hands on attitude.
    • Advocates value stream thinking and analyzes value stream opportunities to drive improvements.
    • Leverages best practices across sites and throughout the organization.

    • Bachelor’s Degree – (Ideally Identifiable as high potential).
    • 10 years of experience with a proven track record of performance management.
    • Previous Lean Deployment Experience.
    • Strong working knowledge of Lean tools & methodologies (PDCA, 5S, VSM, Standard Work, TPM, Material Replenishment & Flow, etc.)
    • Demonstrate strong leadership skills along with high level of integrity and professionalism.
    • Excellent Analytical, oral / written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Strong Business and Financial Acumen.
    • Ability to think/act both strategically and tactically.
    • System Thinker – ability to see and understand overall picture.
    • Strong Facilitation skills, change management experience and project management.
    • Great Presentation skills to effectively share successes.
    • Has successfully led a minimum of 25 Kaizen Events.
    • Previous experience providing Lean training.
    • Ability to Travel up to 75%.
