Summary

The Painter will work in the manufacturing plant to meet production, quality, and service delivery goals. The Painter will work through effective utilization of resources and is responsible for meeting or exceeding customer expectations through coordination, and value based leadership of manufacturing processes, organization and lean processes.

Responsibilities

The Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Examine finished surfaces of product to verify conformance to specifications; then retouch any defective areas.
  • Immerse product into coating materials for specified times.
  • Read job orders and inspect product to determine work procedures and materials required.
  • Rinse, drain, or wipe coated doors to remove excess coating material or to facilitate setting of finish coats on product.
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment, using solvents, brushes, and rags.
  • Clean surfaces of doors in preparation for coating
  • Performs miscellaneous related duties and carries out special projects as assigned.
  • Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications

Qualifications

  • High-school Diploma of the equivalent
  • 3 years of progressively responsible painting and staining experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the painting and staining trade.
  • Have vast experience working with several paint/stain manufacturers, and knowledgeable with their products and application requirements;
  • Skills in the preparation and application of paints to different types of surfaces
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Be able to read and understand production tickets.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate solid teamwork abilities
  • Flexible with schedule changes (willing to work overtime as well as Saturdays).
